This classic double-fronted Edwardian House in North London was remodelled to support the complex needs of a family’s severely disabled son. Our brief was to create the space for his siblings to carry on with ‘normal life’ alongside the space for their brother’s 24-hour care requirements. We worked closely with an incredibly engaged and passionate client who was determined to create a unique and ‘out of the box’ space.
The result was a flat that could be extended into, but closed off from the rest of the Edwardian villa. Solid and well built, the house featured contrasting styles, with a front full of character, but industrial and minimal at the back. These two distinct aesthetics together create one style and character that combines simple, contemporary and urban with more traditional detailing, appropriate to the more grand spaces.
